Joe B Massey M.D. – Chairman was educated at Emory College and School of Medicine in Atlanta. Residency and infertility fellowship training was completed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After service in the US Navy, he entered private practice in Atlanta in obstetrics, gynecology and infertility. In 1983 he was cofounder of the IVF Center, Reproductive Biology Associates in Atlanta , achieving one of the first pregnancies in the Deep South. Collaborations with the clinics outstanding laboratory directors led to a number of breakthroughs and extensive publications in the field of assisted reproduction. After a long career he was employed writing grant proposals for Molecular Biometrics , a medical diagnostic startup company. He then returned to his first love clinical infertility practice and most recently held a position at a low cost IVF center, Central New York Fertility Center. His most recent venture is the Servy Massey Fertility Institute based in Atlanta and Augusta. He is Chairman of the Board of OptiVia Medical, an early stage company in medical endoscopy. He has been on the medical advisory Board of Cryocell International, a successful cord blood freezing company. He was chair of the medical advisory board of Stemron, Inc, which attempted parthenogenesis for the establishment of stem cell lines. He also has advised Monoclonal Antibodies Inc, a diagnostic company, C– Change an early stage medical device company, and Holodoctor, an internet medical information service for Hispanics. He is on the advisory panel for the Stem Cell Action Coalition, a nonprofit entity advocating research support for the field.
